Just wanted to chime in with some thoughts about the Boondock’s Bar incident. I’ve been following this case since the tragic events unfolded, and I can't help but think about the atmosphere inside that bar when everything went down. It's hard to imagine the fear and confusion those present must have felt—not knowing where the shots were coming from or whether they would get out alive.
What's particularly troubling is the fact that so many people who were there have stayed silent. I understand that fear can make witnesses hesitant to speak up, especially in situations involving violence and possible gang-related tensions. But at the same time, it’s critical for justice that those who know something come forward. Jamaine Sutton’s family deserves to know what happened to their loved one.
I also think the decision to close Boondock's, even temporarily, might have been necessary. It's not just about curbing violence but about sending a message that these places need to be safe. Chronic problems like this might be too big to ignore.
I’m really hoping that the arrest of Jaques Lamar Slade brings some answers and that the truth of that night comes to light. Thoughts are with the families, as they've had to wait far too long for justice.
