Hey everyone, I’ve been really trying to wrap my head around how LaSalle Burnett and Samantha O’Brien managed to commit such a heinous act. One of the things that came up during the trial was Burnett’s claim that drugs played a role in his actions. I can't imagine the pain Adam Swim’s family must be feeling, and how they have to cope knowing someone like Burnett attributes his brutality to substance abuse. It’s just infuriating. Does anyone know if there was any evidence of substance use presented in court, or if there were any signs that Burnett might have been seeking help prior to the crime? I really hope that Adam’s family and the survivor find some peace and healing amid all this turmoil. ?
