Did anyone else catch the seemingly increased police presence in the Chatham area after Carlos Hemphill's tragic death? I frequently drive through that neighborhood and noticed it seemed more active with patrols than usual following this horrible event. It's such a relief to see efforts being made to curb the violence, even though it's so tragic what had to happen to prompt action. Carlos's death was such a tragedy, and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones. I hope the increased police activity brings some peace and justice to the community and helps reduce future incidents. It's incredibly hard to see neighborhoods struggling with these issues, and I really hope there can be more long-term solutions on the horizon for Chicago.
