Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the impact Destiny's tragic passing has had on the Burlington community. It's so important to remember not just the tragedy, but also the joy she brought to those around her. Des was obviously quite the musical talent, with her time in the Keyser and Mt. Ridge marching bands. I can only imagine the hole left behind without her charismatic presence lighting up those practices and performances.
The fact that she worked as a lifeguard also says so much about her character. She's someone who quite literally dedicated herself to watching over and protecting others. It hits hard when you realize that someone whose role was to keep others safe was herself a victim of such senseless violence. It's so frustrating and sad that there's still little info on what exactly happened and who might be responsible. I just hope that justice can be served someday for her and that her family finds peace.
Would love to hear your thoughts and any updates if you have them. Des deserves to be remembered for who she was and the love she shared with those around her.
