I’ve been following the case involving John Glaspell and Justin Groff and can't stop thinking about the impact this must have had on the Dunbar High School community. John was among the last to graduate before the school closed its doors. I can only imagine how many of his former classmates and teachers are mourning his loss alongside his family. It’s heartening to see that they’ve found a sense of closure with the sentencing, but the sorrow for John’s community must be immense. Were any school alumni involved in supporting his family or organizing memorials? It would be nice to think that in such dark times, friends from long ago might have come together to honor his memory.
