It’s unbelievable how much time has passed since Corey and Chasity's lives were taken, and yet it still feels so fresh for so many people who knew and loved them. I’ve been thinking a lot about the fire department's role in this case since they were the first responders to the scene. They must have initially believed they were just dealing with a tragic house fire, only to discover such a heinous crime once the flames were out. That must have been incredibly difficult for them. I'm grateful to the investigators and first responders who have been so diligent throughout this process. It really shows just how much the entire Lost Creek community cares about seeing justice served for Corey and Chasity. I can only hope that as the case against Allen Schaffer progresses, the legal system can help provide some semblance of peace for the families. They deserve answers and resolution.
