It's been seven years since that devastating night in Freeport, Iowa, and I still find myself thinking about Sarah Szabo's family and friends. It's unimaginable what they must have gone through, losing someone so dear in such a horrific way. The close-knit community in Decorah must have felt the ripples of this tragedy for a long time. I read that there were multiple search warrants and interviews conducted, which sounds like the investigators were thorough, but it also makes me wonder how well the community came together to support those affected. From what I hear about Decorah, everyone probably rallied around each other during such difficult times. I keep thinking about how relationships that seem private can sometimes end in such public and tragic ways, and it reminds me to always feel grateful for peace in everyday life. My thoughts are with everyone who knew Sarah and Craig, hoping they're finding healing and comfort.
