I've been thinking a lot about the troubling nature of delayed welfare checks in the case of Karen Jayne Edsinga and Lonnie Robert Perry. It makes me wonder how long they were left alone before someone realized something was wrong. It's incredibly sad that they seemingly had no one checking in on them regularly enough to notice sooner. I understand life gets busy, but situations like this highlight how important it is for us to look out for one another, especially for our loved ones who might be more isolated or going through tough times. Rest in peace to both of them. I hope their families find some measure of peace.
