I've been following the tragic case of little Savannah Holmes, and it just breaks my heart to think of what her family and community are going through right now. I can't help but wonder about the systemic issues this highlights regarding firearm accessibility. How is it that a four-year-old was even in a position to accidentally harm herself in such a horrific way? It makes me think about our laws and what more can be done to prevent situations like this from occurring in the first place. I know there's a lot of focus on Akeem's legal proceedings, but perhaps this can also serve as a catalyst for change, encouraging more rigorous safety measures and discussions about gun storage responsibilities in homes with children. Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected.
