I recently came across the tragic case of Carolyn Kingston and Mike Bown from 1971, and my heart truly goes out to their families, who have carried this unimaginable burden for over five decades. I was particularly struck by how Carolyn's young children must have felt that day in Natter's Market. It’s difficult to comprehend the fear and confusion they must have experienced, not to mention the lasting impact this would have had on their lives.
It’s haunting to think that the suspect managed to disappear without a trace. The description seems so detailed, yet it leads to so many questions about why no one has come forward with useful information. This case is a stark reminder of how crucial it is to keep sharing these stories. Maybe someone, somewhere has the missing piece of the puzzle. If you’ve ever thought about any details, no matter how small, connected to this case, it’s never too late to reach out to authorities. Those kids, who are now adults, deserve answers about what happened to their mom that fateful day.
I can’t stop thinking about the courage it must have taken for Carolyn to be there with her kids when the unimaginable happened. It’s chilling to imagine being in that situation, trying to protect your children while facing such danger. How does a community begin to heal when something so senseless happens to one of its own?
Michael, the deliveryman, sounds like he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. So young and with probably so much ahead of him. I just hope that eventually, some kind of justice can be found for Carolyn, Michael, and their families. It’s been too long without answers, and they deserve some peace. If anyone out there knows anything—even the smallest detail—it might make all the difference. We need to keep these stories alive until justice is served.
