On September 2, 1971, 30-year-old Carolyn Yvonne Kingston was working as a clerk at Natter's Market, located at 3065 S. 700 E. in Salt Lake City, Utah. During her shift, an armed individual entered the store with the intent to commit robbery. At the time, Carolyn had her two young children with her in the store.
