I’ve been following Keon Lewis’s case since it happened, and every time I drive past Lake Shore Drive, I can’t help but think about him and the other victims from that horrific Mother's Day weekend in Chicago. Keon’s death, especially on a day meant to honor mothers, is such a stark reminder of what so many families in our city endure. It’s infuriating to think about how the very roads we travel every day are the scenes of such unimaginable violence. How many more good people do we have to lose before something changes? My heart goes out to Keon’s family and all the others who lost their loved ones that weekend. Hoping more awareness leads to real action. Stay safe, everyone.
