I’ve been thinking a lot about the dynamics in the Ruiz case and how things might have been different if there were more resources available for couples in distress. It’s incredibly sad to think that such a tragic outcome could have been avoided with some intervention. I know hindsight is 20/20, and we can never fully understand what was going through Vickie’s mind at that moment. I can't help but wonder if things like couples therapy or conflict resolution workshops could make a difference in situations like these. My heart goes out to both families involved, as they have undoubtedly endured a great deal of pain. It’s a tough reminder of how one moment can change so many lives forever.
