I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of bystanders in tragic events like the one that happened to ChenWei Guo. I imagine how terrifying it must have been for anyone nearby during the attempted carjacking near Red Butte Canyon. Did anyone witness what happened? Were there others around who saw the suspect or heard anything unusual? It makes me wonder about the steps we can take as a community to be more vigilant and supportive in crisis situations. I’m sure those who were nearby are haunted by what they witnessed. It must be so difficult, knowing that something so tragic unfolded right there. Keeping the Guo family in my thoughts, and hoping they find some peace amidst all the turmoil.
