Leo Francisco Moreno Ceballos, a 43-year-old man from New Jersey, was last seen on January 8, 2023, in Hollywood, Florida. He had traveled to South Florida with his family to celebrate the New Year. On the day of his disappearance, Leo told his wife he was going for a drive to clear his mind after attending church. He had been struggling with depression since the pandemic. His family attempted to contact him later that afternoon, and although he did not answer, they received a brief text at 5:45 p.m. stating, "I'm fine."
Later, on January 9, his vehicle was found abandoned and damaged on the side of I-75 near Sheridan Street. Despite the car showing signs of a collision with a light pole, there were no traces of blood or any indication that Leo was injured inside the car. Authorities, including canine units, searched the surrounding area, but no further clues have emerged regarding his whereabouts.
His family has expressed deep concern, as Leo did not have any money or credit cards with him when he disappeared. They have been reaching out to hospitals and the public, hoping for any information that could help locate him. At the time of his disappearance, Leo was wearing a dark green polo shirt, blue jeans, and green sneakers. He has a distinctive lion tattoo and stands 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds.
The Hialeah Police Department continues to seek the public's help in locating him, and his family remains hopeful for his safe return.
