Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the systemic issues surrounding Marshawn Cooper's tragic death and just how overwhelming the larger picture was back in 2016. It was a tough year for Chicago, especially with how violence surged, but I'm curious about the community support—or lack thereof—at the time. ? For those of you familiar with the Roseland neighborhood, what kind of resources, if any, were there for young people trying to navigate life back then? Was there any effective outreach happening, or were those efforts just not making the impact they needed to? Programs that should have existed but didn’t? It just seems like people like Marshawn were left without enough support and opportunities, and it's such a devastating thought. I can't imagine the pain his family must feel. It’s so disheartening to think that despite everything, so many cases from that time haven't been resolved, leaving families waiting for justice. What do you all think could have been done differently on a community level, aside from law enforcement involvement, to help young men like Marshawn? ? Sending love and strength to Marshawn's loved ones during what must be an incredibly tough time. ??❤️
