I recently came across an article about Veronica Lopez's tragic murder on Lake Shore Drive back in 2016, and I just can't stop thinking about the ripple effect such violence must have had on her family and community. It breaks my heart to imagine the pain her loved ones must still be feeling, especially given how young Veronica was. Has anyone heard anything more about the community's response to this crime? Were there any initiatives or support groups that were started in her memory? Sometimes these stories just fade out, but I hope her family received the support they needed, and that her legacy inspired some positive change in Chicago. I’d love to hear more about any efforts like that if anyone’s in the know.
