I was reflecting on the involvement of the 16-year-old in Fernando Amaya-Higareda's case. It's so troubling that he wasn't immediately charged, considering he was there when it all happened. It's upsetting to think about how the lives of everyone involved, including Fernando's family, have been shattered. I can't imagine what they're still going through knowing that they won't get to see him again or celebrate milestones with him. I’m curious if anyone has been following any updates on what led to the decision not to charge the 16-year-old at first. Seems like every detail in this case is like a piece of a chaotic puzzle. My heart goes out to Fernando’s loved ones, hoping they can find some peace amidst all of this turmoil.
