Hey everyone, I've been following William T. Palmer's case closely and couldn't stop thinking about the lack of safe spaces for young men like him in Chicago. It's just so upsetting to realize that many don't have the simple freedom to walk their own neighborhoods without fear. The violence in 2016 hit so many families like William's, and it's often the day-to-day realities that get overlooked—how kids can't play outside, or how parents worry every time someone they love steps out the door. The community deserves more than being reduced to statistics. How do you all think we can shift more attention to creating those safe spaces and tackling the underlying issues? I'd love to hear your thoughts or any efforts you've seen make a positive difference. Sending thoughts to William's family and everyone still affected by this terrible violence.
