Just read the latest update on the Harry Baez case—such a complex and emotional journey for everyone involved. I’m struck by the role that the Chief State's Attorney's Cold Case Unit played in bringing new attention to an otherwise stagnant investigation. Their collaboration with the Hartford Police Department must have been intense and really demonstrates how essential these units are in resolving unsolved crimes.
I can only imagine the mix of emotions for Harry's family after all these years. The pain of waiting for answers, coupled with the frustration of an unresolved case, must have been overwhelming. Now, with the plea deal from Raynor, maybe there's a sense of relief, though it can never truly make up for their loss.
Big shoutout to all the families dealing with similar cold cases—your strength is awe-inspiring. And to the officers and investigators who keep these cases alive, thank you for your dedication and perseverance. Would love to hear what others think about specialized units like this working on cold cases. Are they as impactful as they seem?
