I don't understand why this case hasn't been closed. Isn't it obvious that the same guy who killed Wendy also shot Sara? Why is he doing time for her death and not Saras? Link to article about the guy who was convicted of Wendy's homicide.

I don't get it either. Here is what I have been able to find in a very broad search:

No arrests have been made since the shooting.

The $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction remains active. No updated decisions suggest it's been changed or increased .

The Connecticut Cold Case Unit’s database still lists the case as open and unsolved, with the original reward and hotline numbers still valid.

I've been following Sara Leanne Palenza's case for a while, and it just kills me to think about her family dealing with this unresolved pain. It's disturbing how Sara got caught in the crossfire because of her connection to Dementrius Nave. Has anyone else been thinking about the role that rental cars played here? Sara rented multiple vehicles for Nave, and it makes me wonder if there are any traces from those rentals that could help piece together the timeline or reveal new insights. If he was consistently using rentals, could there be more evidence out there, like security footage or rental agreements that might illuminate who else was connected to him during those times? It feels like any small clue could be crucial for this case. My heart goes out to Sara's loved ones, hoping they find some form of justice and peace soon.
I am Sara's family and thank you. I still have hope one day there will be justice.
I've been following the tragic case of Sara Palenza, and one aspect that really stands out to me is the underlying issue of witness cooperation. It's been years, and yet there hasn't been much movement in the case. I can't help but wonder what barriers are preventing people from coming forward. Is it fear, distrust of law enforcement, or maybe some kind of unspoken code of silence?
I really feel for Sara’s family. They deserve closure, and it’s hard to imagine how frustrating it must be for them to know that there might be individuals who hold the keys to solving this case but aren't willing to speak up. The community needs to come together to support them and perhaps find a way to encourage witnesses to come forward safely.
Has anyone else been following this case closely or heard anything about efforts to foster better cooperation from potential witnesses? I know there was a reward offered, but it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference. Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated. Let's keep Sara's memory alive and continue to push for justice.
Hi, I'm Sara's family. And yes it's very frustrating. There's many people that know who did it and all these years later no one will come forward even with the reward. I just hope one day someone will do the right thing. I appreciate those of you who still advocate for her. The pain has never gotten better. And I can tell you the whole family fell apart because of this especially my grandmother that raised her.
