I was reading about the Sandy Hook tragedy again, and what stood out to me this time was the bravery of the teachers, especially Victoria Soto and Anne Marie Murphy. It's just deeply moving to imagine their last moments as they tried to protect those innocent kids. I don't know how they managed to stay so calm and selfless in those terrifying minutes. Ana Grace Márquez-Greene was just a little girl, full of potential and joy, and it's profoundly sad that she and so many others had their lives cut short. It's a sobering reminder of what educators are willing to do for their students every day. I truly hope their heroism is never forgotten and that we continue to honor them by working towards safer schools for all children.

I came across something while reading about the Sandy Hook tragedy that really stuck with me and highlights the importance of discussing mental health openly. It's said that Adam Lanza had a history of mental health challenges, including Asperger's and anxiety, and while experts concluded these conditions didn't directly cause his horrific actions, it got me thinking about how society often overlooks these issues until it's too late. While nothing can bring back the beautiful lives lost that day, perhaps one small step forward is ensuring comprehensive mental health support and resources are readily available, especially for young people showing early signs of struggle. Victims like Ana Grace Márquez-Greene should not have to be remembered for the shortcomings of a system that could have offered better preventive care. For their sake, and in their honor, let's keep pushing for improvements in mental health access and support. Keeping Ana and all the victims in my thoughts.
