One aspect I've been thinking about is the location of the shooting at the Berkeley Heights complex. It's concerning that this area is known as 960 gang territory, yet it seems residents have to live constantly on edge due to the ongoing feud with ATM and the Ave. Boys. I wonder how much this environment contributed to the tragedy that took Matthew's life.
