Hey everyone, I recently came across the tragic case of Kirk Johnson, who died in that devastating fire on Essex Avenue back in 2016. It's been on my mind, especially thinking about his family and the three young girls who also lost their lives that day. I was reading about how the fire was deemed suspicious, and it baffled me that someone would intentionally set a blaze in an apartment building like that. It just adds an extra layer of senselessness to an already heartbreaking situation. I know that 2016 was a particularly tough year for Chicago, with violence seemingly everywhere, but this kind of intentional harm in a community space hits differently. It makes me wonder about the investigation process and whether more could be done to bring justice to Kirk and the others. What's everyone's take on how this was handled by the authorities? Do you think they were able to pursue the right leads with the person of interest they had? Hoping for more answers and maybe some closure for the families affected. They surely deserve that peace. Stay safe out there, everyone.
