Does anyone else find it strange how Austin's car was found in such a remote area near Evans Creek? I was looking at some old maps, and the spot where the vehicle crashed is pretty isolated. Makes you wonder why he would head that way during the chase. I've read that he had some shady connections, but if you were trying to evade law enforcement, it's odd to choose such a difficult and secluded route. Maybe he knew the area well or thought he could lose them in the dense forest? It’s frustrating that the terrain and weather hampered the search efforts—as if it wasn’t hard enough already. Also, what if he was meeting someone out there? Just a thought. Anyone familiar with that area and have any insights on those ORV trails off State Route 165 that might have provided a quick escape route?
