Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the vigil where Keekee Fleming tragically lost her life. It's so unsettling that a place meant for remembrance and healing turned into yet another scene of violence. It feels like there's no safe haven anymore in neighborhoods struck by such sad events.
One thing that really hits me about this situation is the profound impact it must have on those who attended the vigil. I can't imagine the trauma of being there to honor someone lost to violence, only to witness more of it firsthand. How does a community heal from something so intense? My heart goes out to all the families grieving not just for Keekee, but also the other victims that day, and to those trying to find peace in such turbulent times. How can we as a society support them, and how can we foster safer spaces for mourning and healing? Would be keen to hear thoughts or experiences from others on how communities have successfully rallied together in the face of such adversity.
