I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact of Adrianna’s murder on her 14-month-old daughter. It’s just devastating to know that she’ll grow up without her mom’s love and guidance. I can’t even begin to imagine what the family is going through, having to explain this tragedy as she grows older. There's a certain innocence that's lost when a child is exposed to violence, even indirectly, and I hope the little one can someday understand that her mom was a beautiful soul caught in an awful circumstance that had nothing to do with her. Let’s keep Adrianna’s family in our thoughts and hope they find strength in each other during such a difficult time. It breaks my heart to see how gun violence continues to destroy lives and families in Chicago. This needs to stop.
