I've been following Scott's case for a while now, and something about the location of his truck just puzzles me. Abandoning it at the Flat Tops Wilderness Area makes me wonder if he was trying to set up a different kind of scene. Could he have been planning on going fishing and maybe thought the area was remote enough to vanish without leaving too much behind? The float tube missing from the duffel bag is intriguing. It seems like a deliberate choice rather than something he just forgot to pack. Fishing is supposed to be calming, so maybe he was having second thoughts? It's strange that after all this time, there's still no trace of him. Does anyone have insights into other cases where missing items pointed to alternate theories?
