Did anyone else notice how quickly tensions escalated in the aftermath? It’s truly unsettling to think about how Sheriff Preston and Deputy Stiel set out to make what must have seemed like a routine arrest, only to have things spiral out of control so quickly. Their families must have been shocked and devastated by the suddenness of it all, not only losing loved ones but seeing the community erupt into violence so soon after. I was thinking about the father's role in this tragic event. It’s just puzzling and sad to consider that he got involved and ended up provoking more violence. It doesn’t seem like anyone was prepared for things to end like this. It's harrowing to think about all the decisions made in those few moments, their repercussions felt by the families and the community. My heart goes out to all those who had to endure this nightmare, it must have been so overwhelming dealing with the immediate loss and then the chaos that followed.
