I can't stop thinking about the bravery of Officer Biggs and how devastating this must have been for his family and colleagues. Can you even imagine having such a short time on the job and then facing such a harrowing experience? It must have been incredibly terrifying, yet he showed such courage confronting the danger head-on. It's so concerning how quickly things went south during what should have been a routine investigation. It makes you wonder about the safety measures and training officers had back then. The fact that his murderer was caught and convicted of only voluntary manslaughter, with a sentence of just five years, feels like a grave injustice considering the loss of a dedicated life. I hope Officer Biggs' family found some form of comfort in knowing that the community valued his sacrifice and continues to honor his memory. Anyone else have thoughts on how cases like this might have impacted police protocol in those days?
