I’ve been reading about Marshal Humphrey's tragic end, and my heart goes out to his family and the Alma community. One detail that really stands out to me is how relentless the Barrow Gang was. It’s hard to comprehend the fear they caused across so many states back then. Imagine the bravery it took for Marshal Humphrey to approach that scene on Highway 71, not knowing what he was up against but still dedicated to protecting his town. It’s chilling to think how a routine day turned into such a devastating loss. I can't help but think about the fact that Marshal Humphrey was new to the role, just trying to serve the community as best as he could. It’s so important that towns like Alma remember his sacrifice and the courage he showed. Hats off to those who make sure his name and actions are never forgotten. How are others feeling about the role the Barrow Gang played in this?
