I've been going down the rabbit hole of Marion Albert Pruett's case, and I can't help but feel a chill when I think about how the system placed him in witness protection. It's just unfathomable that someone with such a monstrous nature was essentially given a new identity, allowing him to unleash terror across several states. With Bobbie Jean Robertson's murder, it hits particularly hard knowing that she was just doing her job, probably looking forward to getting home after her shift, when her life was so senselessly taken. I'm wondering if there's more accountability needed in how we handle such protection programs. It seems like there's often no recourse for families left picking up the pieces. I can't imagine the pain and anger her loved ones must feel every time Pruett’s name is mentioned.
