Hi everyone, I've been following the Forrest City case with a heavy heart, and there's something that really got me thinking. Gary Thomas and Kendrick Smith were both deeply connected to the local community, and I've read that both had been involved in youth programs. It's devastating to think about the ripple effect their absence will have on so many young lives they touched. While there's a lot to discuss about the lack of information on the suspect, I feel the community's loss of these two men on a personal level. Their commitment to mentoring youth was truly inspiring. It's just tragic that such positive influences can be taken away in an instant. I can't help but wonder how this case might affect local initiatives moving forward. Hopefully, the community can rally together to support these programs in their honor and ensure that Gary and Kendrick's legacy lives on through the lives they tried to better. Thinking of all affected, especially the younger generation who lost mentors and role models in these senseless acts. Stay safe, everyone.

I was reading through some old articles and I came across the Gary Thomas and Kendrick Smith case from 2014 in Forrest City. It's been on my mind ever since. I can't believe it's been almost a decade, and yet it feels like there are still so many unanswered questions. I remember how the community came together back then, organizing vigils and rallies to honor their lives and advocate against gun violence. The fact that these men were taken on Christmas Day makes it even harder to digest. With so little information available about the suspect and the investigation, I just hope that their families have found some semblance of peace over the years. Do any locals have insights or updates on how the community is doing now or if there's been any movement on the case?
