I can't stop thinking about how the Redfield community came together after Ben's tragic death. It's both comforting and saddening to see how everyone supported the Schrader family during such an unimaginable time. Attending the funeral, you could just feel the collective grief, but also a strong sense of unity and support. It makes me wonder if we’re doing enough to turn this awful event into a push for real change on gun safety education. School programs, workshops for parents—anything that ensures another family doesn’t have to face what the Schraders are enduring. It’s encouraging to see discussions happening around town, but I hope they lead to tangible action. My heart goes out to Ben’s family; they have an entire community standing with them, hoping for some light to come from this darkness.
