It's truly devastating to read about what happened at Beacon Point Apartments back in 2015. My heart goes out to the families and friends of Julian Bolton and Travon Staten. I can't even begin to imagine what they're going through. A detail that caught my attention is the background of Justin Damone Johnson. It raises so many questions about how someone with a previous not guilty verdict in a double homicide case could be potentially involved in another. It makes you wonder about the system and the complexities of past allegations shaping future actions. Was there something more that could have been done after the Albuquerque case? It's chilling to think about and really highlights the challenges our communities face when dealing with individuals with such histories. I hope the continued attention on this case and others like it can bring about changes that help prevent these tragic events in communities like Texarkana and beyond. If anyone has thoughts on how the community has or could address these underlying issues, I'd be interested in hearing them.
