Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Camarillo Pedro Lara since it happened, and I just keep thinking about the larger picture here. It's incredibly upsetting that his life was senselessly taken in such a violent way, and it’s made all the more distressing knowing it's part of a larger trend. During that same week, so many lives were impacted by gun violence across the country, and it really makes you question what can be done to address this issue. It's so easy to become desensitized when you hear numbers like '500 people shot in a week,’ but each one of those numbers represents a person with family, friends, and a story of their own. Camarillo was someone's loved one, and the pain of losing him must be unimaginable. We can only hope that the authorities get the help they need from the community to solve this case and others like it. I truly believe that bringing awareness to these issues, even in forums like this, can help create change and maybe even prompt those with information to come forward. If you knew anything about that night in Little Rock or have heard something over the years, please consider reaching out to the police. It might seem like a small thing to you, but it could be the key to solving this tragedy and giving Camarillo’s family some peace. Stay safe out there, everyone.
