I came across some information about Jennifer Salcido-Barreda's case, and it's been on my mind ever since. I keep thinking about how this young mom, who clearly adored her kids, was taken so brutally. Her life was just starting to unfold; she was only 21 with two little ones. It's hard not to feel for those babies who will grow up without their mom, and for her family who must be devastated. I'm stunned by the justice system's decision. How does someone get just 90 days for taking a life? It doesn't sit right with me, and I imagine it must be incredibly difficult for Jennifer’s family and friends to grasp. I hope they find peace and strength in each other during this incredibly tough time. Her story is a reminder of how real and close to home these tragedies are, affecting the lives of ordinary people who deserve so much more. Anyone else here with thoughts on the community response or how we can push for meaningful change?
