I've been following the case of Shameka Nicole Stewart, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the role the community can play in bringing justice for her family. It's incredibly frustrating and sad to think that two years later, we still don't have answers or any arrests made. Shameka's children are left to navigate life without their mother, and they deserve to see those responsible held accountable. I've noticed there’s been some push for community involvement, and it seems crucial now more than ever. It's a tough ask, for sure, especially if people fear retaliation, but if anyone even remotely remembers something from that night, every detail could matter. Even the smallest bit of information might lead investigators where they need to go. I just hope people come forward so that Shameka’s family, especially her kids who are enduring this unspeakable loss, can finally have some peace.
