I can't stop thinking about Sergeant Joshua Caudell's K-9 team and how they must be grieving his loss. Those dogs are trained to serve bravely alongside their handlers, and it's hard to imagine how they adapt after losing a partner in such a violent way. The bond between K-9 officers and their handlers is incredibly strong, almost like a family. It's tragic not only for Sgt. Caudell's human family and colleagues but also for his canine partners. They lost a leader on that terrible day, and I hope they're getting the care and support they need while adapting to the change. My heart goes out to all those affected, it's such a painful reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face every day.
