Has anyone looked into Deputy Akers' career before that tragic day at the Parker depot? It’s shocking to think about all the risks law enforcement officers take on a daily basis, and Deputy Akers was no exception. With over a decade in service, he had such a wealth of experience to draw from. As a former highway patrolman and Yuma City police officer, he must have encountered countless dangerous situations long before facing that fateful confrontation with Franklin. It really goes to show how every call they respond to could potentially be their last. My thoughts are with his wife and son, who had to continue living after such a devastating loss. It’s a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who protect and serve.
