I've been thinking a lot about Deputy Rex Atwood Stone's dedication and the timing of his tragic death. It's incredibly sad that he was still processing the recent loss of his son, Officer Dale C. Stone, when he was taken from his family. Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and I can't wrap my head around how he managed to continue his work as a deputy during such a difficult time. His commitment to his duty is truly admirable, but it breaks my heart that he never had the chance to grieve or heal. It's important to remember Deputy Stone not just for his decades of service, but also as a father and person who faced tremendous personal loss before his untimely death. Sending love and strength to his family and friends who have endured so much.
