I've been thinking a lot about the brave act by Vincent Armstrong, the hitchhiker who managed to escape Gretzler and Steelman by jumping out of a moving vehicle. It's terrifying to imagine being in that position, and his quick thinking likely saved his own life. What a horrific ordeal to endure, especially knowing what those two were capable of. It's a reminder of the random nature of danger and how close Vincent came to being part of their deadly rampage. I truly hope he's found some peace and healing in the years since, given how traumatic that experience must have been. It’s also sobering to think how, by escaping and reporting his kidnapping, he might have helped law enforcement get one step closer to catching the duo, potentially saving other lives in the process.
