I've been going down the rabbit hole researching the Charles Pray case this week, and something keeps sticking in my mind. It's the bravery of the two women who followed Bernard Smith that night. I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been, knowing they were following someone who had just committed such a violent act. Their quick thinking was crucial in apprehending Smith so swiftly, and it's chilling to think how different things might have turned out without their involvement. Pray didn't survive, but their actions brought justice to his family, which is something to hold onto. It's just a reminder of how the courage of ordinary people can make a huge difference, even in the most tragic circumstances. The community really came together to support Pray's family during the trial—it’s powerful to see that kind of unity in the face of tragedy. My thoughts are with all who were impacted by this senseless crime.
