I've been thinking a lot about the impact that Harold Drury's murder had on his family and the wider community in Phoenix. It’s so unnerving to imagine someone going to work, just like every other day, in a place we all frequent so casually, and facing such a chilling fate. From what I’ve read, Harold was a dedicated family man and had served our country in the Air Force, which makes this loss even tougher to digest. He should have been safe at his job, and it’s beyond tragic that this kind of violence erupted over something as trivial as a cash drawer. It’s a stark reminder of how dangerous things can get out of nowhere, and my heart goes out to those who were close to Harold. They must carry this burden every single day, and I just hope they found some semblance of peace knowing that his killers were brought to justice. The randomness and brutality of the crime still haunts me—how two young people, who should’ve been thinking about their futures, ended up leaving such a painful legacy behind. It's a somber reflection on society but also a story of how justice can, in a way, provide closure—even when it can’t undo the harm done.
