I wanted to take a moment to talk about Johnny and Lilie Yazzie. I can't imagine the heartbreak they experienced that day, arriving to find their grandchildren in such a horrific situation. It's a testament to their strength and love that they intervened and prevented further destruction, even though the devastation was already so immense. I feel deeply for them as they had to face not only the loss of their granddaughters but also the actions of their own son. It's hard to comprehend the emotional turmoil this must have caused within their family. Not only did they have to process their grief, but they also had to deal with the consequences of Norman’s actions. The strength it must have taken for them to hold him back and deal with the complexities of love and anger towards their son is unimaginable. I hope the community continues to support them through this, and that they find some peace. It's so important that we acknowledge and support grandparents and extended family members affected by tragedies like this. Their stories and their pain matter too.

I’ve been following the Yazzie case and something that really stands out to me is the sheer bravery of young Rhyan. Can you imagine the terror of witnessing such a horrific event at just 11 and finding the presence of mind to play dead? His courage and composure saved his life that night. It’s heartbreaking to think about what he must be going through now, carrying the weight of that night and having the strength to testify against his own father. This tragedy has really opened my eyes to how deep and complex issues like mental health and substance abuse can directly impact families. I hope Rhyan has been able to receive all the support and care he needs to heal from such a traumatic experience. It's so important for the community to come together to foster understanding and provide the necessary resources to prevent such tragedies. My thoughts are with him and anyone affected by this unimaginable event.

Hey everyone, I've been reading through some old posts about the Yazzie family tragedy from 1996, and something keeps weighing on my mind about little Rhyan Yazzie. It’s haunting to think about what he went through that night, what he witnessed, and how in a split-second decision, he had the presence of mind to pretend to be dead in order to survive. I can't even imagine the strength and fear he must have felt. It's absolutely devastating that he had to endure such physical and emotional trauma at such a young age, not to mention the immense loss of his siblings. Being the sole survivor, held accountable by those distressing moments, and then having to testify against his father – that takes a resilience I can't begin to fathom. I'm curious about how Rhyan is doing today. While the case drew a lot of attention to issues like mental health and substance abuse in the community, I hope there’s been lasting support for him. After such a tragedy, I truly hope he found the healing and peace he deserves. Would love to hear if anyone has updates on him or how the community is doing nowadays. Thanks for reading.
