Does anyone else find it so eerie how Mirna and Romelia were just going about their day, serving food to local workers, and then in a heartbeat, everything changed? The normalcy of their actions that morning highlights just how random and senseless these acts of violence were. It's truly disturbing to think they were just trying to earn an honest living, something most of us take for granted every day. My thoughts are with their families and the regular customers who must have thought of them as friends. It’s chilling to think Goudeau was once among us in our everyday spaces, and it must have been incredibly tough for the community to move forward after such tragic events. If anyone has more stories or memories celebrating their lives, it would be comforting to hear more about who they were beyond the tragedy.
I've been thinking about the families of Mirna Palma-Roman and Romelia Vargas, and I can't even begin to imagine what they've been through. The fact that they were just doing their jobs, trying to make an honest living, and were taken from their loved ones in such a senseless and brutal way really hits hard. It's like they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it absolutely chills me to think about how random and unfair life can be sometimes.
The fear they must have felt, and the devastation their families experienced when they heard the news, is haunting. I wonder how the community has supported them over the years, and how they keep their memories alive. It's important to remember the victims, not just as part of a horrific crime wave, but as real people with hopes, dreams, and families who cared deeply about them. How has the Phoenix community honored their lives over the years?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been digging into the Baseline Killer case, and something that really struck me was how Mirna Palma-Roman and Romelia Vargas were just doing their jobs, trying to make a living, when their lives were cut short. It’s gut-wrenching to think about how they were simply out there in the early morning to serve the community through their snack truck, only to become victims of such a horrific crime.
I can’t imagine the impact this must have had on the local vendors and small business owners in Phoenix at the time. The fear that must have rippled through that tight-knit community had to be immense. It's also frustrating to think about how their case was initially misinterpreted as drug-related - it must have been incredibly painful for their families to have to deal with that.
I hope we continue to remember Mirna and Romelia, not just as victims, but as hardworking and beloved members of the community who were taken far too soon. Sending thoughts to their families and everyone who had to deal with this tragedy. ?
What are your thoughts on how these crimes affected the community during that time? Please share any insights or memories you might have.
Stay safe,
