Being a wife and mother myself, I can't even begin to imagine what Tiffany and their two sons, Koltan and Gunner, have gone through since that terrible day. Not only did they lose a loving husband and father, but they also had to cope with all of this while being under the media spotlight and managing the investigation and trial process. It seems like they received an incredible amount of support from the community and the police department. I'm grateful to see that people rallied around them during their time of need. Officer Cortez's legacy surely lives on through his family and the enduring respect he earned in his career. It’s a stark reminder of how much these officers and their families sacrifice for our safety. My heart goes out to them.
