Has anyone else been following the deeply unsettling case of Tomas Newman? It's such a jarring reminder of how dangerous even our everyday surroundings can suddenly become. I keep thinking about how Tomas was just being a good neighbor, checking on a friend's house, and then this tragic encounter with Adrian Reeves happened. Tomas seemed like he had such a promising, full life ahead of him. I read about his football legacy and how he made it to his high school's Wall of Fame—an incredible achievement that speaks to his dedication and talent. My heart goes out to his family, especially at those memorial services in Sontag. It must be so unbelievably difficult for them to make sense of this loss. Does anyone have more insight into how the community is rallying around his family? It would be nice to know what kind of support systems are in place for them during this overwhelming time.
