I've been following the Eddie Thomas case for a while, and something that's been on my mind is how often incidents like these happen in broad daylight. It’s terrifying to think about, and it makes one wonder about the everyday safety of people just trying to go about their routines. It's like no place is truly safe, and the audacity of committing such crimes openly speaks to a wider issue of fearlessness among perpetrators. The fact that Eddie was just sitting in his vehicle brings to light the indiscriminate nature of these attacks. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have to deal with this unimaginable loss. It's a reminder for us all that more needs to be done in terms of community protection and engagement with at-risk individuals. Without addressing the bigger picture, I fear we'll continue to see headlines like these. Stay safe, everyone, and let's support efforts in our communities to prevent more tragedies.
