I've been thinking a lot about the community's reaction to Cornelius McDonald's passing and it’s truly profound. It's not just that we've lost a dedicated activist, but the ripples of his absence are everywhere. I had the privilege of hearing him speak at a local event about a month ago, and his passion for preventing gun violence was so genuine and inspiring. It’s haunting to see the irony that someone who worked tirelessly against gun violence was taken in such a senseless act. What stands out to me is the courage he must have had to consistently face the issues he was so passionate about. Those who knew him personally say he was always there to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement. I'm really hoping the community can come together in his honor to continue the critical work he was so committed to. It's clear that he’s left a lasting legacy, but the pain of his loss is undeniably heavy for so many right now. My heart truly goes out to everyone who knew and loved him.
